The fundamental purpose of OHSU and the Department of Psychiatry is to improve well-being. Our work is part of OHSU's mission to deliver excellent education, research, patient care and service to the community.
In addition to being a part of the OHSU Brain Institute, we conduct laboratory and clinical research on all the most common mental health problems. We treat people with various forms of psychiatric disorders including sleep problems, substance abuse and addictions, mental health problems in children, adolescents and older adults (geriatric) and eating disorders, just to name a few. Our specialists care for people of every culture and background.
