Since joining OHSU, Dr. Schwab's primary interest has been the education of the rheumatology fellows and the expansion of the fellowship program at OHSU. Her clinical and research interests have included rheumatoid arthritis through her participation in the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis registry. She is particularly curious about mechanisms of bone health and osteoporosis prevention. She is working towards acquiring proficiency in musculoskeletal ultrasound through the USSONAR Train-the-Trainer program and hopes to integrate musculoskeletal ultrasound in the rheumatology clinic at the Portland VA.
