Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program
OHSU has an accredited Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program that is part of a comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Care Center that provides high-quality, specialized care for those with CF and their families.
Meet Our Staff
Gopal Allada, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine is the Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center. He has served as the program director at OHSU since 2005. Gopal has worked with adult CF patients since 1994.
Jeffrey Gold, MD, Professor of Medicine is the Associate Director of the Adult CF clinic. Jeff has a long standing interest in infectious diseases of the lung and currently has multiple research projects focusing the body’s response to infection.
Virginia Satcher, ANP has worked with our CF team since 2008. She sees CF patients independently, assists with medication issues, sick calls and clinical research. She also sees some of our CF patients while they are in the hospital.
Wendy Palmrose, LCSW is our adult CF social worker. She has extensive experience with both our pediatric and adult patients.
We have an adult CF dietitian and addresses any issues regarding obtaining a healthy weight, good vitamin levels and nutritional supplements.
Cori Muirhead, Pharm D is our CF pharmacist and will review your medications to make sure you are getting the most out your medications. This will include understanding you medications and how to take them correctly.
Dr. Nir Modiano MD, PhD joined the CF team in 2016 and specializes in gastrointestinal diseases. If there are issues involving your GI symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, belly pain, changes in your bowel habits, etc, we may refer you to see Dr. Modiano.
Amy Woods, PT joined the CF team in 2016 and is our physical therapist. We are very interested in improving patient's mobility and function. Amy is working with our CF patients to come up with exercises to help with this.
Our Patient Access Specialist (PAS) staff help schedule and coordinate appointments and can pass on messages to our providers. The PAS staff also assist with prior authorizations and working with insurance companies to get certain testing ordered.
