The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension offers a full range of clinical nephrology services, including care for patients with hypertension and chronic kidney disease. We emphasize a holistic approach to patient-care and offer non-pharmacologic, as well as traditional, approaches to both hypertension and kidney failure.

Kidney Disease Clinic

The OHSU Adult Nephrology and Hypertension clinic offers evaluation and treatment of all forms of primary and secondary hypertension, using both traditional and non-drug approaches. They also offer comprehensive treatment of renal disease including in-center hemodialysis.

Comprehensive Hypertension Center

The OHSU Comprehensive Hypertension Center offers individualized care to patients who have hypertension in addition to other complex health conditions, such as:

  • Early kidney disease
  • Diabetes
  • High risk for heart attack or stroke
  • Previous occurrence of heart attack or stroke

The center also specializes in the assessment and treatment of secondary hypertension (high blood pressure that has been linked to a specific cause).

Kidney Transplant Medicine Clinic

The physicians and surgeons that care for kidney transplant patients at OHSU have extensive experience in nephrology and urology, the specialties most involved with diseases of the kidney. They are highly adept at providing health care for all types of kidney disease.

Kidney transplant program

The OHSU kidney transplant program began in 1959 and to date has served more than 4,500 patients. We take a multidisciplinary approach to care for you, which includes an expert team that includes nephrologists, urologists, surgeons, nurse coordinators, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, financial coordinators and patient service representatives.
