Biography

Julie graduated from the OHSU Physician Assistant Program in 2008. After a few years practicing in a busy private internal medicine clinic (followed by time off to travel around the world with her husband), she realized she missed the academic setting of OHSU and returned here to a position in outpatient geriatrics, under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Eckstrom. In 2013, Julie developed a pilot program of combined teaching and clinical care in geriatrics in the inpatient setting, and in 2015 became co-director of the Inpatient Geriatrics Consult Program. Though she misses the longitudinal relationships that can be fostered in primary care, she enjoys the challenges and rewarding impact she can have working with patients and families during periods of acute illness and injury. Outside interests include bicycling, home remodeling, shopping at farmers' markets and playing tickle monster with her two small children.
