The Fundamentals of Osteoporosis Detection, Prevention and Therapy

The Bone & Mineral Unit offers an Osteoporosis Preceptorship.  It is intended to provide clinicians with expertise in the care of Osteoporosis. It is designed for both primary and specialty care providers in all disciplines of medicine.

The preceptorship's small group format (15 to 20 attendees) is conducive to questions and in-depth discussion. Case-oriented problems are used to illustrate important issues. Attendees are encouraged to bring cases from their practices for discussion.

Three hours of Continuing Medical Education may be available through Oregon Health & Science University.

Topics of Discussion:

  • Osteoporosis and Its Diagnosis
  • Osteoporosis Prevention
  • Osteoporosis Treatment
  • Glucocorticoid-Induced Osteoporosis
  • Quality Assurance/Control Precision Management of Bone Measurement Equipment
