Alan Melnick, MD, MPH, was named the first Director of Family Medicine Research in 2004. His research interests include reproductive health, specifically family planning, and the use of geographic information systems in public health. Beyond conducting research at OHSU, Dr. Melnick is the Public Health Officer for the Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties in Washington State. He also serves as a Charter Member on the NIH Community Level Health Promotion Study Section.
