Hospital Care
OHSU Family Medicine has a vibrant inpatient service that admits patients from its four Family Health Centers and from community partners including Multnomah County Health Department, Clackamas County Health Department, and Virginia Garcia Migrant Health Center. We are committed to caring for patients regardless of where they are geographically located; whether it be the clinic, hospital, care facility, or home.
We have four Family Medicine Inpatient Services that work collaboratively together to assure the highest quality of care. We admit well over 2000 patients per year, including adults, children, and women for maternity care. Your personal physician is actively engaged in your care while you are in the hospital. Even if you are admitted to another service while in the hospital, the Family Medicine team will be involved in your care. This helps insure that important issues are addressed during the hospitalization; taking into account unique aspects of each patient; and that there is a smooth transition of care back to the outpatient environment.
