Additional Mentorship Opportunities

We encourage each of our students to form an additional ongoing relationship with an experienced professional who is engaged in research or current projects of interest to that student. This relationship may be in the form of collaborating on a research project, an internship, soliciting comments on a capstone or thesis, or asking a faculty member to serve on an advisory committee. We have found that this type of supplemental one-on-one mentoring greatly enhances the student's educational experience and presents him or her with new insights into the practical application of informatics and possible career opportunities.
Please see our External Faculty page for an alphabetical list of external faculty members who are interested in connecting with students in one or more of these capacities. The list includes information on his or her specialty, availability to mentor, internships, and contact information.
