The Informatics Discovery Lab (IDL) within the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology (DMICE) at OHSU facilitates the collaboration of academia and industry to solve major challenges in the healthcare system through the joint development and deployment of innovative applications of biomedical informatics.
The IDL recently launched a Healthcare Predictive Analytics Service, a research and operational group dedicated to transforming healthcare systems using a combination of data analytic, managed care, and process redesign approaches.
We are seeking an Assistant Professor to support the IDL and this service, and provide teaching and research leadership in the area of healthcare intelligence and analytics. This position reports to William Hersh, MD, DMICE Professor and Chair. DMICE provides leadership, discovery, and dissemination of knowledge in clinical informatics, clinical epidemiology, and bioinformatics and computational biology through programs of research, education, collaboration, and service.
- MD and/or PhD with a demonstrated track record of research leadership and publication, the potential to obtain grant funding, and an interest in teaching.
- Formal training in biomedical informatics or a closely related discipline is required.
- Specific relevant expertise in one or more of the following areas: healthcare policy, quality, and drivers; real-world data normalization, transformation, and interpretation; integration and deployment of informatics research products into real-world systems; large-scale data analytics; and pragmatic evaluation methodologies.
