Vishnu Mohan, MD, MBI, MBCS, FACP

Dr Mohan is a clinical informaticist and primary faculty at DMICE. He is board certified in internal medicine and a graduate of the certificate and MBI programs at DMICE.

He is involved in OHSU’s effort to advance the meaningful use of health information technology (HIT) by educating professionals in this rapidly growing field, and serves as Associate Director at the OHSU ONC Curriculum Development Center.

He teaches two core clinical informatics courses at DMICE, design and evaluation in informatics and clinical information systems. Dr Mohan also teaches in the OHSU-PSU Joint MBA in Healthcare Management program, and is faculty at the internal medicine training program at Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon.

Dr Mohan is interested in how clinicians make decisions, how they interact with technology, and how technology influences their decision-making. He is a member of the interdisciplinary Physician Order Entry Team (POET) at OHSU, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine (APDIM) E-Learning Taskforce.

Before joining the faculty at DMICE, Dr Mohan was Associate Program Director at Legacy’s internal medicine training program, and was involved in the design and implementation of a comprehensive electronic health record. He has won multiple teaching awards at Legacy, including the Dean L McGinty MD Faculty Teaching Award in 2006, Excellence in Clinical Teaching Awards in 2008 and 2009, and the Best Outpatient Faculty Award for 2010.
