Julian is a National Library of Medicine (NLM) PhD fellow in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at OHSU. Before his PhD candidacy, Julian worked as a bioinformaticist for the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo Genetics Department developing next generation sequencing (NGS) data pipelines for evolutionary and phylogenetic studies of lemur species from Madagascar. Although early in his PhD studies, Julian's research focuses on novel algorithm pipeline development for NGS data along with transcriptome studies using RNA-sequencing and k-mer content analysis.
