Participate in the Challenge

To participate in the monthly challenge, please email responses to Dr. Hopkins at hopkinsk@ohsu.edu.

The Pediatric Radiology Mystery Case Challenge is open to all OHSU students, residents, and fellows, regardless of specialty. Responses are also welcome from trainees of other institutions.

Each month, a set of images from the pediatric radiology archives will be posted online, along with a limited amount of clinical information; all patient identifiers will be removed.

Participants should determine a diagnosis based on the imaging findings and may consult books and online references to research their answers. Consultation with faculty is prohibited, and only individual responses will be accepted.

To qualify, responses must be submitted on or before the last day of the month by 5 pm Pacific Time. The correct diagnosis and a brief explanation of the imaging findings will appear on this website at the beginning of the following month, along with a new mystery case.

Names of participants who answer correctly will appear in our quarterly e-Bulletin, The Reading Room.
