Thank you for your interest in our department and training program. We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Residency Coordinator at (503) 494-2872 or .

Applications will be accepted only through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). If you have any questions about ERAS, please contact the Dean's Office at your School of Medicine. Applications will be considered complete when they include:

  • CAF (common application form)
  • Dean's letter from medical school
  • 2 letters of recommendation from additional physicians
  • Medical school grade transcript
  • Copies of all USMLE board score results
  • Personal statement.

Your personal statement should include a brief autobiography, your expectations of a residency program and a statement of your future career goals. A recent photo is also helpful to us. For IMG’s, you must have an ECFMG certificate, a PGY-1 year and participate in the NRMP. In addition, those applicants who are not USA citizens must be able to meet the current requirements for an appropriate USA visa and be eligible to work in the United States upon matriculation.

No ERAS application will be considered complete until the Dean's letter is included (which are distributed in October). Deadline for submission for a completed ERAS application is December 1st. Your application will be reviewed initially and then again upon completion. Interviews are offered to those candidates who fulfill our Department's criteria. Interviews will be scheduled during October, November, December, January.

The OHSU Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine also offers 10 training positions at the PGY-1 level. Therefore not all applicants will be able to do their PGY-1 within our program and will need to arrange PGY-1 training directly with appropriate PGY-1 programs usually through the NRMP process. Information on PGY-1 programs is available by contacting the NRMP at:
