Linda Clark; Grants and Contracts Coordinator
Linda Clark has 12 years' experience working with administration staff at OHSU. She formerly served as part time program coordinator for the Oregon Office of Rural Health where she was responsible for pre- and post-award grant services and compliance for the State & Federal student loan repayment programs. She joined APOM Office of Research on a temporary status in February of 2012 but maybe familiar to some as Linda worked with APOM Quality Improvement from 2006-2008. Linda's role with APOM Research is to assist faculty in grant proposal development and submission. Additionally, Linda will review research contract terms and conditions and prepare subcontracts. When Linda is not at OHSU, Linda is busy with family projects, gardening & volunteering.
Amy Cissell, MS; Grants and Contracts Administrator
In May 2008, Amy Cissell joined our research team as Grant Administrator, and in April 2011 she became the Grants and Contracts Administrator. Her responsibilities include managing the pre- and post- award processes and budgets for the Research division.
Amy holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in English from South Dakota State University and received a Master of Science Degree in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon. She enjoys running, reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and friends.
Cassie Dong; Financial Analyst
Cassie worked for Quest Diagnostics for 11-years as senior accountant, as well as a General Ledger Accountant for Portland Public School before coming to APOM as Financial Analyst in March 2012. Her job duties include processing FPP payroll, Accounts Payable and Time keeping. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and cooking.
Heather Hoem; Executive Specialist
Heather is the Executive Specialist in the Research Division of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. With almost ten years of experience in executive support, she joined our team in September 2009. She is the principal support for the Vice Chair for Research and also provides support services for the Grants and Contracts Administrator and several members of the research faculty. Her other responsibilities include overseeing the orientation process for new hires and serving as timekeeper for the division.
Heather moved to Portland from Virginia in February 2008. She studied psychology at Lindenwood University in Missouri; she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jennifer Young, BS; Lab Manager
Jennifer Young joined the Research Division of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in 2003. She was promoted Lab Manager in 2012, for our facility at the Hatfield Research Center, one of two molecular laboratories in the department, and continues to be instrumental in the establishment and operation of the laboratory.She has played a principal role in developing experimental standards for protein chemistry and genotyping techniques widely used throughout the Research Division.She has also helped to develop key immunohistochemical techniques for studying post-ischemic processes in vivo.
Before coming to OHSU, Jennifer worked for the United States Geological Survey as a Lead Laboratory Technician studying immune response and predation in juvenile Chinook salmon and sturgeon species in the Columbia River.She received the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology in 2002 from Washington State University.
