Drs. Iliff, Rooney, and Colleagues Receive Paul Allen Distinguished Investigators Award
07/14/15 Portland, OR
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Jeff Iliff, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and The Knight Cardiovascular Institute, and Dr. Bill Rooney, Director of the Advanced Imaging Research Center, on receiving The Paul Allen Family Foundation Distinguished Investigators (ADI) Award.
The 2015 ADI Life Science Focus was on Alzheimer's Disease (AD), and the 3-year, $1.4 million winning proposal from Drs. Iliff and Rooney aims to map a new CSF flow pathway (called glymphatics) in the human brain and study its role in the accumulation of Amyloid β in the aging brain as a potential contributing factor to AD. Other co-investigators on the project are Dr. Miranda Lim (Neurology, VA), Dr. Jeanne Link (Radiochemistry, KCVI), Dr. Lisa Silbert (Neurology, Aging and AD Center), and Dr. Charles Springer (AIRC).
