Research

Research in the department includes a diverse range of study, with examples including the study of glucose transporters in parasites and the interactions between herpes simplex virus and host cells. This research leads to publication in prestigious journals such as Nature and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. Labs in the department are funded primarily by the National Institutes of Health and other government organizations through a competitive grant process.
