The paper is entitled "Observations regarding retinopathy in mitochondrial trifunctional protein deficiencies". It outlines the similarities and differences in the clinical signs and symptoms between deficiency of all three activities of mitochondrial trifunctional protein, trifunctional protein deficiency (TFPD), and deficiency of only the dehydrogenase activity of the protein, long-chain 3-hydroxyacylCoA dehydrogenase deficiency (LCHADD). Then it goes on to discuss the current state of the knowledge about the retinopathy, or retinal degeneration leading to blindness, that occurs in these deficiencies. PubMed
