Tim is Senior Manager of User Experience (UX) Design at Autodesk where he leads a multi-discipline user research and design team. His global team envisions and designs new mobile and online connected CAD software and web services. These solutions empower designers and their collaborators to imagine, design, create and share innovative products and services, bringing tangibility to their ideas faster and in new forms. Tim participates on the Autodesk UX Design Leadership team that is transforming the integration of Lean UX research and design into high velocity agile software development for the company. Throughout his career, he has practiced at the intersection of Design and Business, improving and optimizing UX Design while focusing on business impact. Prior to joining Autodesk, Tim’s extensive international practice spans early stage to Fortune 100 technology businesses catalyzing disruptive innovation in customer experience.
Recently, Tim has been an invited guest speaker and panelist for the Design Management Institute, the Oregon Health and Science University Division of Management, and Portland State University. Tim served as mentor for the Riverdale High School PandaBots FIRST Robotics team, was Co-Chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum Pittsburgh and actively participates in Leadership, Design, and Technology Strategy professional organizations.
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Design, with concentration on Industrial Design, he also studied Strategic Marketing Management at Harvard Business School.
For three years prior to relocating to Portland, OR Tim was an Adjunct Faculty Member of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Design, teaching the course "Practicing Design" to senior-level students preparing for professional careers in interaction design, communication design, and industrial design.
