Biography
Dr. Griffin worked at Kaiser Permanente for thirteen years, was Assistant Chief of the Mental Health Department for eleven years, and then Acting Chief.He also worked as a Physician Implementation Manager for Kaiser Permanente's Care Management Institute, for eleven years.  The Care Management Institute is a national Kaiser Program for the improvement of care and quality in clinical practice.

Dr. Griffin was involved in extensive teaching in the Primary Care Department at Kaiser for the improvement of Depression care.  He also implemented a region wide electronic screening program for the 10 most common mental health problems encountered in Primary Care.  He was selected by the Northwest Permanente Physician Group for their Distinguished Physician Award in 2002, and as a "Portland's Top Doctors" in 2005, 2007, and 2008.  He was also involved as the Utilization Manager and Quality Improvement Manager in the Mental Health Department, as well as in the development and implementation of several Quality Improvement Initiatives.

Dr. Griffin also practiced at Providence Portland Medical Center for 20 years.  He was Chairman of the Psychiatry Department for two years, and Chairman of the Credentials Committee for nine years.

Dr. Griffin continues his 37 plus years of clinical practice working with Providence Health Systems part time in their Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospital Programs and in their Emergency Department.
