Welcome to the Korkola Lab
Our research is focused on understanding how intrinsic changes in cancer cells (e.g., mutations, copy number alterations, etc.) integrate with extrinsic signals from the microenvironment to give rise to cancer-specific phenotypic properties such as growth, survival, and response to therapy. Our primary focus is in breast cancer and resistance to targeted inhibitors. We utilize microenvironment microarrays (MEMA), high-throughput imaging, CRISPR, siRNA, and other cell and molecular biology approaches to study these problems.
