Course Schedule

The 16th Annual Certification & Recertification Review Course for Physician Assistants will be held August 14-17, 2012. The course schedule will be posted once individual speakers have been confirmed. Please review last year’s schedule to get a sense of how the course is structured. The 2012 schedule will be similar, although speakers and times are subject to change.

Lodging

The newly renovated DoubleTree Hotel Portland is located in the center of the Portland Metro area. 

A block of rooms has been reserved at the DoubleTree Hotel Portland with special rates for course registrants. For reservations, please call 1-800-996-0510 and ask for the OHSU Physician Assistant room block. Reservations must be received by July 23, 2012 in order to take advantage of these rates. We encourage you to make reservations early as quantities are limited.

Additional person - $15 per night. Room rates are quoted exclusive of prevailing local lodging tax and are non-commissionable. Quoted rates will be offered based on availability to attendees three days before and three days after the above dates.

All reservations will be guaranteed with individual credit cards. In the event of a no show, one night’s room and tax will be posted to that credit card. To cancel without penalty, you must inform the DoubleTree Hotel 72 hours prior to your arrival date.

In the event a guest who has reserved a room within the block checks out prior to the guest’s reserved check out date, the DoubleTree Hotel will add an early departure fee of $25 to that guest’s individual account. To avoid an early departure fee, guests should advise the DoubleTree Hotel before or upon check-in of any change to their departure date.

The DoubleTree Hotel will accept reservations at the group rates until the block is filled or until the cut-off date, whichever comes first.

Transportation

Portland, Oregon can be reached via plane, train or automobile, and boasts an easy-to-use, economical public transit system.

If you are flying in from out of town, please note that Portland's MAX light rail stops just outside the DoubleTree Hotel (Lloyd Center/NE 11th stop) and offers service from the Portland International Airport. MAX makes getting around town easy with a 'free zone' from the DoubleTree Hotel to the heart of downtown Portland. For information on public transportation options and schedules, visit TriMet Public Transportation.

For drivers, the DoubleTree Hotel Portland maintains a managed parking facility for over 750 cars. Parking is complimentary for daytime guests, while overnight guests pay a discounted rate of $9/night. You can access the parking structure from both NE 9th Avenue and NE 11th Avenue. Please remember to take a ticket when entering the parking structure. Daytime guests will receive a complimentary parking voucher daily from course organizers, which will be redeemed, along with your ticket, when leaving the structure.

The DoubleTree Hotel offers free covered bicycle parking on the main level of their parking garage. For information regarding taking your bicycle on our mass transit system, please visit TriMet Public Transportation.

The DoubleTree Hotel also offers a biodiesel powered shuttle, upon availability, to area attractions within a two-mile radius of the hotel.

Refund Policy

We will accept cancellations until July 31, 2012. All cancellation requests must be in writing in order to process your refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after July 31, 2012.

Cancellations received by July 31, 2012, will receive a refund, subject to a 25% processing fee, and will take 2 to 3 weeks to process depending upon original method of payment. Should you wish to substitute a colleague, simply fax or e-mail notification of his or her name and contact information by August 7th so that we may prepare registration materials. 



Continuing Medical Education (CME)

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 28 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Total number of approved credits yet to be determined
