International Applicants
Academic Credentials
International students must provide an evaluation of their academic credentials prepared by an international credentialing agency. Two recommended credentialing agencies are: International Education Research Foundation http://www.ierf.org/ and World Education Services http://www.wes.org/ . TOEFL/TSE
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of applicants for whom English is not their native language. The TOEFL requirement is waived for applicants with Masters or Doctoral degrees from an accredited US Institution. The scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to the Physician Assistant Program Admissions Office. The ETS TOEFL score report will then be matched with your CASPA application. The institution code for the PA Program is 4865. The Program does not use a department or major field code. TOEFL scores are valid two years from the date of testing.
English Course Prerequisites
In addition, 9 hours of English is required if your initial education was not taken at an English-speaking university.
Natural Science Prerequisites
In addition to the above requirements, all non-Canadian international graduates must provide transcripts reflecting a minimum of 20 hours of natural sciences taken at an accredited U.S. college or university. These hours must include a full sequence of Anatomy & Physiology with lab and a microbiology with lab. See table below for specifics.
