Requirements for Admission
The Neuroscience Graduate Program does not have specific entrance requirements. The Admissions Committee considers several variables, most importantly grade point average, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation. We do not have a minimum GPA, although students with GPAs less than 3.0 require exceptional GREs and letters. Likewise, GRE scores below the required minimum do not disqualify a student, but cause us to scrutinize other parts of the application more closely. Indeed, letters of recommendation from advisors or colleagues who know the applicant in a research environment, not just a class environment, are the most important factors we consider. Finally, we encourage applicants from all science majors and actively seek diverse scientific backgrounds among our entering students.
