Course description

This is a new course that was started in the spring of 2017.  The course consists of a focused selection of topics to give students a solid foundation to be successful as scientists and leaders and demystify many elements of PhD training and this career path.  Each session is taught in conference style. (No lectures!) Topics include: team dynamics, mentor selection and relationship, negotiation, conflict management, basics of grant submission, presentations, writing, peer review, time management, PhD milestones.

This is a one credit course taught in the spring term. Students take it when they enter the PhD portion of the program. It is open to any PhD students at OHSU. It is taught by MD/PhD program leadership.
