Promising Scholar Award for the 2017-2018 academic year. The OHSU School of Medicine Graduate Studies awards 10 promising scholar awards to incoming students each year. This award is $1,000 for moving expenses.


8/22/2017: Sonja L & William E Connor Endowed Fund for Excellence in Nutrition, Jessica Somohano

Jessica received limited funds from the Connor Foundation to support nutrition work and travel in Lao


11/30/2017: Sonja L & William E Connor Endowed Fund for Excellence in Nutrition, Crystal Tsai

Crystal received limited funds from the Connor Foundation to support her thesis research work


12/8/2017: OHSU Global Overseas Travel Award, Schlesinger Family Fund, Hannah Wilson

Competitive monetary award given to OHSU students who commit to at least a 4 week international experience that includes various aspects of one or more of the following: clinical practice, public and population health, health education, and research. Hannah was selected for this award to travel to Lao in the summer of 2018 under the supervision of Diane Stadler, PhD, RD, GPHN Program Director, and Joanna Cummings, MS, RD, LANI Coordinator and Instructor. Hannah's work will be with the ongoing project for nutrient-rich blenderized enteral feeding formulas to counter malnutrition and stunting in Lao.

 

12/12/2017: AND Ruth L. Mercer Memorial Scholarship, Crystal Tsai

Crystal was awarded the Ruth L. Mercer Memorial Scholarship for the 2017-18 school year in the amount of $ 500 from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation

 

1/17/2018: Be Midge's Hero Scholarship Award, Jessica Burgess, Dayana Enriquez, & Tessa James

$2,000 award offered to select GPHN students who demonstrate evidence of a personal commitment to a plant-strong, whole foods-based lifestyle, and a sustained interest in promoting this lifestyle in future professional pursuits.
