Northwest Kidney Kids honors Dr. Houghton
The Northwest Kidney Kids will honor Don Houghton, MD '72, Professor, Department of Pathology, with the John Barry Award for Excellence in Caring for Children with Kidney Disease. The award, named in honor of John Barry, MD, Professor Emeritus, Department of Surgery, honors Dr. Houghton's excellent work in diagnosing, thus guiding, the treatment of pediatric kidney disease.
Northwest Kidney Kids offer hope and support to children with chronic kidney disease and their families. They provide educational programs and group activities that empower Kidney Kids to take charge of their health, embrace their future and achieve lifelong success.
"Dr. Houghton has a wealth of knowledge and experience in pediatric kidney pathology, which he readily shares with trainees and colleagues," said Megan Troxell, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology. "He is a wonderful mentor."
