Dr. Brunett receives Distinguished Educator Award

Patrick Brunett, M.D., FACEP, associate professor of emergency medicine and associate dean for graduate medical education, was recently honored by the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors Academy for Scholarship in Education in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Brunett is a 2014 recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award in the category of Educational Leadership. Awardees are chosen for being "educators who have an exemplary record of achievement in emergency medicine education and advancing the development of a network of mentors for future growth in emergency medicine education scholarship." The award is in effect for five years.
This is not the first time Dr. Brunett has been recognized by CORD. In 2011, he was the recipient of the Impact Award for outstanding contribution to the organization and advancement of the specialty.
Nicole Deiorio, M.D., and Lalena Yarris, M.D., MCR, both associate professors of emergency medicine, have also received a CORD Distinguished Educator Award in the areas of Educational Leadership and Educational Research, respectively. Find a list of past recipients on the CORD website.
