The Life Raft Group, which hosts the biennial Life Fest conference, on Nov. 9 honored Michael Heinrich, M.D., professor of medicine and member of the Knight Cancer Insitute, with the Clinician of the Year Award, in recognition of his tireless devotion to the cancer community. Life Fest brings together patients and health care providers from around the world who have been impacted by Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) disease.
The award is particularly significant as this year the Life Raft Group is commemorating its 10th anniversary as a patient organization. Life Raft is dedicated to finding a cure for GIST and helping those affected by this disease through support, education and advocacy. The award will be presented by Life Raft Group’s board of directors.
