P. Michael Conn, PhD, Professor, Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, has been named outstanding graduate of Baylor College of Medicine for 2012. He graduated from the Baylor College of medicine in 1976.
Dr. Conn is the Director of the Office of Research Advocacy, Senior Scientist in Reproductive Sciences & Neuroscience (ONPRC), and Professor of physiology and pharmacology, cell biology and development, and OB/GYN at Oregon Health & Science University.
His work focuses on treatment of diseases caused by misfolded proteins. Common diseases linked to misfolded proteins include diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and eye cataracts.
