Dr. Cohen elected Vice President for Professional Affairs American Society of Anesthesiologists
Norman Cohen, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine, has been elected Vice President for Professional Affairs American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Founded in 1905, the American Society of Anesthesiologists is an educational, research and scientific association of physicians organized to raise and maintain the standards of the medical practice of anesthesiology and improve the care of the patient.
Dr. Cohen will serve as one of eleven officers in the organization. In his role as VP, he will oversee all society activities related to professional practice (for example, coding, payment, practice management, practice type, and advocacy) and professional standards (for example, quality, departmental administration, standards/guidelines, ethics, patient safety, and outcomes measurement).
