MD student awarded Physicians for a National Health Program Nick Skala Activist Award
Richard Bruno, MS3, was awarded the Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) Nick Skala Activist Award for his advocacy work over the last year.
The award is named for a young health care activist named Nick Skala who passed away a couple years ago. PNHP says, “Nick was an inspiration to those whose lives he touched working for a universal health care system. “
The PNHP annual conference was recently held in Washington, D.C., and focused on the national and state efforts to realize universal health care. Richard co-led workshops on working within medical societies and on student efforts in their communities and campuses. He was also appointed to the Board of Directors.
