Some frustrations about usefulness voiced

LCMEThe School of Medicine has launched a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) Self-Study website to share information with SoM faculty, students and staff. The site has public-facing pages and an internal section with important news, survey results, and updates from the ten LCME faculty committees, the LCME Student Committee, and the LCME team.

As part of the LCME self-study process and in preparation for the January 22-25, 2012 site visit, the LCME Faculty Committee conducted a survey of SoM faculty in December 2010 regarding annual performance evaluations. More than 700 faculty members completed the survey. Survey results are now ready to share with you.

The confidential 18-question SoM Faculty Annual Review Survey asked for faculty members’ experience with academic reviews and for comments. Responses were aggregated and compared with the 2004 survey.

Faculty feedback provided through the survey will be used to improve the annual review form and the evaluation process for faculty. It will also be used to formulate faculty development efforts aimed at improving institutional and departmental support for our teaching mission.

For survey results visit the new LCME internal Self-Study website (login required).
