Diversity Story Wall seeks alumni contributions Share This OHSU Content

03/29/11  Portland, Ore.

OHSU is shaped by many histories, and the new Diversity Story Wall, to be officially unveiled in June, is a way to celebrate the key moments in science, education and medicine that contribute to OHSU’s rich legacy. The wall will be located on the 9th floor of Kohler Pavilion, in the walkway to the Portland Aerial Tram.

The Diversity Advisory Committee seeks alumni stories, names, photos or recollections of colleagues whose contributions were significant to diversity. Possible examples include:

  • “Firsts” of any kind.
  • Information portraying OHSU’s contributions to diversity in larger national contexts.
  • Narratives on OHSU’s journey to create an inclusive community around issues such as age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, color, race, religion, sexual orientation, thought and ideas.
  • Noteworthy diversity milestones in the history of health and sciences.

The wall will include sections that can be periodically refreshed with new stories, individuals, entries or discoveries. Contributions are welcome at any time and should be sent to Karen Peterson, OHSU Archivist.
