As the state's only innovation awards program, the Idaho Innovation Awards recognize innovative accomplishments in four categories for companies and individuals based in Idaho. "It was a great privilege to be presented with the Innovator of the Year award from an outstanding group of nominees. This award was a tribute to the decades of hard work, sacrifice and research that ultimately led to what is now known in the marketplace as Epionce," said Dr. Thornfeldt.

In an effort to better the quality of life for his patients, Dr. Thornfeldt spent over twenty five years of clinical research at laboratories in California leading a team of researchers to complete work that was pioneering in the field of dermatology. The high value Dr. Thornfeldt places on scientific validity continued as he ensured over fifteen prospective independent clinical studies were completed on the physician-dispensed product line, Epionce.

Dr. Thornfeldt personally holds over twenty U.S. patents. He continues to speak internationally and write while maintaining a full time referral-only medical practice and acting as CEO of Episciences, Inc. He has authored chapters in multiple dermatology textbooks. His first full textbook was published by Allured Books in 2010.
