Alumni, students and guests mingled with leaders of the school's educational programs at the Dec. 8 annual alumni holiday reception, taking advantage of the intimate ambience of The Town Club in Portland to discuss curriculum reform and OHSU's interprofessional initiatives and catch up with school and personal news.

In keeping with the season of giving, school leaders presented those alumni present with OHSU alumni pins.

Dean Mark Richardson thanked alumni for their work on behalf of students in the School of Medicine – including contributions to student scholarships – and encouraged alumni to continue their participation in this and other important efforts.

SMAA President Donald Girard, MD R '73, MACP, welcomed alumni and guests and celebrated some of the year's highlights, and fourth-year medical student David Simmons tied a seasonal bow on the reception with some outstanding musical entertainment.
