Soft Relines for Dentures: This course includes information on the kinds of materials available and the placement process for relining dentures.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Develop an awareness of the special needs of the edentulous patient
- Understand the concepts of the physical and psychological challenge of dentures
- List some of the options oral care providers use to avoid total edentulism
- Describe the objective of a soft reline
- Compare the characteristics of different types of denture relines
- List the main ingredients of the soft reline materials
- Describe how the reaction takes place
- Discuss over-the-counter denture products
- Evaluate a medical history and determine any complication for placing a soft denture reline
- Mix and place a soft reline material in a denture and place it on a cast model and trim it appropriately
- Give proper aftercare instructions for the newly placed soft reline
- Write an appropriate chart entry.
This course satisfies the Oregon Board of Dentistry requirement for certification in this expanded function.

To assure your spot, payment must be received with registration. Assistants must provide EFDA # with registration.

Speaker: Mary Ann Haisch, RDH, MPA graduated from Clark College in 1970 and from Portland State University in 1980 with a BS in Health Education. She received her Masters of Administration from Portland State University in 1993. Since 1981, Ms. Haisch has been coordinator of the Limited Restorative Procedures class at OHSU School of Dentistry.
