Welcome from Dean Phillip Marucha
Although we are already a couple of months into the new year let me extend greetings and best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014.
The New Year's Eve fireworks heralded more than the usual sense of anticipation for me. 2014 is set to be a banner year for the School of Dentistry and for dental education in our state. The dreams of many will be realized on July 1 as we move into a space that matches the excellence of our students, faculty and staff. Please read more below about our plans and the critical role that you, our alumni, are playing in this next exciting phase of the School's growth.
Even in February signs of Spring – and the Oregon Dental Conference – are in the air. I learned recently that as many as 3,000 of the attendees at the conference are alumni of the School of Dentistry. If you are attending, please do seek me out, either in the conference halls, during our new Skourtes Tower tour opportunity on April 4, or at our highly-anticipated Awards Luncheon on April 5. I would enjoy meeting and talking with you.
Finally, join us as we take a look Behind the Scenes at our simulation program. The video is our first glimpse into how our move to Skourtes Tower will allow us to enhance a program that has already becomes central to the learning experience.
Thank you for all that you continue to do for the School of Dentistry.
