What is Endodontics?
Endodontic treatment, or root canal treatment, deals with the tooth pulp and tissues surrounding the root of a tooth. Root canal therapy, retreatment of existing root-filled teeth and endodontic surgical procedures are all provided in the OHSU Graduate Endodontic Clinic.
For further information on root canal treatment and other endodontic procedures, please refer to the American Association of Endodontists' website.
How do I become a patient in the OHSU Graduate Endodontic Clinic?
Your dentist needs to fill out and mail or FAX our referral form to our clinic. You can print the form below and give it to your dentist to complete.
We need 2-3 business days to process your referral. We will then telephone you to schedule an appointment. You may also call us on 503-494-4248 to ask about your referral.
Who will provide my endodontic treatment?
Treatment in the OHSU Graduate Endodontic Clinic is provided by Endodontic residents. All Endodontic residents are qualified dentists receiving specialty training in endodontics.
Do I need to have an evaluation appointment first?
Your Endodontic resident will perform diagnostic testing, take X-rays, and confirm the need for treatment at your first appointment. If there is enough time, treatment can be started immediately after evaluation. Otherwise, another appointment will be made for you to start your treatment.
