Abstract submission instructions
- Registered students, post-docs or faculty can submit an abstract. Please submit abstracts by 5:00 pm on February 19.
- The body of your abstract should be no more than 2,300 characters, including punctuation (not spaces). We recommend aiming for this range as a frame of reference, then counting characters and revising accordingly.
- Use standard abbreviations. When using abbreviations for chemical compounds, spell out full for the first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. Do not abbreviate compounds in the abstract title.
Title - Include in the title of the abstract all words critical for a subject index. Please write your title in sentence case (first letter is capitalized; remaining letters are lower case). Do not bold or italicize your full title.
Presentation Preference - Authors may select from three presentation formats when submitting an abstract: "slide preferred," "poster only," or "poster preferred." The "slide preferred" selection indicates that you prefer a slide session, but will accept a poster format if necessary. Marking "poster only" indicates that you would not like to be considered for a slide session. The new "poster preferred" option allows the author to denote that he/she would prefer to present in the poster format but will accept a slide session slot if the Program Committee feels that the abstract will be a better fit in a slide session.
Author - List all authors who contributed to the work discussed in the abstract. The presenting author must be listed in the first author slot of the list. Include affiliation information for all authors after the list of authors.
Abstract - Enter the body of the abstract
Support - Enter the source(s) of contributed support in the Support step. (Grant numbers may be listed here
- Send abstracts to Dr. Larry Sherman at shermanl@ohsu.edu
- Please send only Microsoft Word files or PDF files.
