What is available at OHSU?

Many books and journals are available electronically through the catalog, which also indicates where an item is physically located (books by call number, journals alphabetically by title).

The most recent 15 years of print journals and most recent 10 years of books are kept on the 2nd floor of the Main Library.

Requesting physical items not in the Main Library

Older books or journals are stored in the Old Library or Storage and can be requested via the Request function within the catalog. The request function can be accessed through the following button, that will appear when you are on an item record in the catalog.

Request an item from the OHSU Library system.

Items located at the Science & Engineering and ONPRC libraries can be requested for delivery to the Marquam Hill campus through this function as well.

To make requests you need a library barcode. This barcode allows you to access your patron record, renew materials and access resources from off-campus.

The OHSU Library shares the catalog with the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) and Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC). These items are identified in the catalog. You can request books from these locations, but will not be able to access their full-text electronic journals.

Oregon Library Resource Sharing Program

The OHSU Library participates in a state-wide program that provides free interlibrary loan of both articles and books among participating public and academic libraries in Oregon. Materials from the OHSU collection can be requested through the interlibrary loan program of your public or school library. Materials are delivered to your library for your convenience.  For more information, please view the Oregon Library Resource Sharing Program page.

If you are having problems finding the books, journals or other materials you need, Ask a Librarian or call the library at 503-494-3460.
