About the Problem


In Ethiopia there is a silent epidemic of women suffering from conditions related to complications of child birth such as obstetric fistula, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

What We Do


OHSU has collaborated annually with Gimbie Adventist Hospital (GAH), a rural hospital in Western Ethiopia, to provide over 200 uterovaginal prolapse surgeries.

$25 - Provides transportation for one surgery
$50 - Provides a suture box and surgical instrument
$100 - Provides a Midwifery Program text book
$175 - Provides prolapse surgery for one woman
