Patient & Visitor Resources
OHSU provides a variety of diversity-related services to its patients & visitors including:
- Translation & Interpreter Services- provides no cost assistance to limited-English speaking patients and their families communicate with our providers and staff.
- Maps & Directions- Marquam Hill Campus Maps in English, Русский, Español, and Việt Nam. Driving directions to the Marquam Hill Campus in English, Русский, Español, and Việt Nam.
- Doernbecher Children's Hospital Patient Information in Spanish- provides information on services and resources in Spanish for interpreter services, registration, health education and Medicare.
- The Child Development & Rehabilitation Center (CDRC)- provides services for improving the lives of individuals with disabilities or special health needs through leadership and effective partnerships with individuals, families, communities, and public and private agencies.
- Center for Women's Health- a National Center of Excellence in Women's Health providing comprehensive care for women of all ages in aspects of women's health including information on clinical trials, health news, health care and health care education.
- Women's Heart Program- a comprehensive program dedicated to preventing, diagnosing and treating heart disease in women.
- Complementary and Alternative Medicine- provides information about nonconventional approaches to healing, beyond traditional medicine.
- Intercultural Psychiatric Program- provides outpatient care to historically under-served refugees and immigrants. Mental health counselors, who speak the same languages as our patients, work with program psychiatrists to treat adults, children and adolescents, particularly those affected by trauma.
- The Avel Gordly Center for Healing - established to meet the mental health needs of the African American community and to take away the shame associated with mental illness. Developed by the African American Mental Health Commission in partnership with OHSU the center is designed based on the express recommendations and suggestions of the African American community through mental health needs assessment and study.
- One Sky Center- a National Resource Center for American Indians and Alaska Natives dedicated to improving prevention and treatment of substance abuse and mental health across Indian Country.
- OHSU & Your County- providing support to build partnerships that enhance community-based care, serving Oregon's most vulnerable citizens and provide access to health care education. Through participation in outreach programs and partnerships that extend from urban neighborhoods to rural communities, OHSU's faculty, residents and students realize a richly diverse education while serving Oregon citizens.
- Chaplaincy Services- provides spiritual support to patients, their families and OHSU staff. Chaplains are available to provide spiritual guidance, prayer, emotional support and comfort. A prayer/meditation room is available in Doernbecher Children's Hospital, room 10301.
- Patient Rights & Responsibilities- provides information on patient rights including respect and consideration for your cultural, social, spiritual and personal values, beliefs and preferences.
- Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity (AAEO)- a resource for patients, staff, faculty, students and employment applicants in their effort to support diversity and prohibit discrimination in all facets of the University's activities.
