HEALTHCARE EQUALITY INDEX: LGBT LIVE WEBINAR TRAININGS

OHSU was recognized in 2011 and 2012 as a "Leader in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Healthcare Equality" by the Human Rights Campaign. The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) rates healthcare facilities on their policies related to LGBT healthcare equality. The four main policy criteria include: patient non-discrimination; hospital visitation; employment policies; and cultural competency.

From January to June 2013, OHSU's Center for Diversity & Inclusion, in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), will offer three separate LGBT live webinar trainings for OHSU employees.

LGBT Patient-Centered Care: An Executive Briefing

This highly engaging and informative 90-minute live webinar with LGBT health expert Shane Snowdon, Director of the Health & Aging Program of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, equips senior healthcare managers with the information they need to ensure that their organizations provide optimal care for LGBT patients and are in full compliance with CMS and Joint Commission requirements.
