Multicultural Health, Science and Engineering Conference February 19, 2010

The Center for Diversity & Multicultural Affairs (CeDMA) will be hosting its 10th Annual Oregon Health & Science University Multicultural Health, Science & Engineering conference on Friday, February 19, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the OHSU Old Library Auditorium. College and high school students interested in pursuing a career in the health, science and engineering professions are invited to attend.
Conference Objectives:· Encourage historically underrepresented populations to enter the health, science, and engineering professions
· Provide students with insight on healthcare, science, and engineering professions in medicine, nursing, dentistry, allied health, engineering, biomedical research, dietetics & nutrition and pharmacy
· Provide insight on the admission process and other relevant information
· Introduce students to OHSU’s educational programs, faculty, facilities, students and resources
· Promote bicultural/bilingual prospective health and science providers
Lunch will be provided.
Registration is a two step process. The online registration deadline is February 12, 2010.
2) There will be an on-site $10.00 registration fee, which includes conference registration and a catered lunch with current OHSU students, faculty and staff. Please bring cash, money orders or check with you on February 19, 2010.
Optional:
Parking passes are available for $10.00 at Marquam Hill Information Center 2815 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd (Near SW Terwilliger Blvd – bottom of the hill). Parking on campus is optional. Public transportation or carpooling is highly recommended.
