OHSU

Content Policies

Acceptable Content for Public-Facing Site

All website content must be in compliance with the OHSU policy manual, the OHSU Code of Conduct, and the Acceptable Use of Computing and Telecommunications Resources policy.

Content must be directly related to the website's core business objectives without detracting from professionalism.

For example, inappropriate public-facing content:

  • Departmental social events showing the consumption of alcohol
  • Photos of personal celebrations on the website of a department providing patient care services

Decisions about appropriateness are made by the department chair/head. Disagreements about content appropriateness will be escalated to Web Strategies.

Promotional graphics:

If contention for promo use becomes an issue, Web Strategies will manage placement and rotation of promo items using the following criteria:

  • There are three promotional  spots  – health, research, education/general institution each "own" one
  • If a spot is not being used by its default owner, any group is allowed to submit a promo
  • Default owners may reserve their spot in advance
  • Once a promo is posted, the spot is reserved in 30 day increments, until the end of relevancy, or until a scheduled reservation comes up
