OHSU

Calendar

OHSU supports a web-based calendar solution called Trumba Connect for publishing online, interactive, calendars of events. The main use of this calendar is to advertise events for voluntary registration or attendance. Web Strategies can help you get a calendar and editor license for your department or help you find an alternative.

OHSU Events for an Outside Audience

Trumba is a primarily for OHSU departments or groups who coordinate and hold events for outside audiences. Outside audiences include:

  • alumni
  • general public
  • health professionals
  • industry professionals
  • prospective students
  • researchers

Events posted to calendars intended for an outside audience are automatically shared on the respective mission calendar, the OHSU Events calendar and the intranet calendar. Events may also be shown on other calendars by request (and consent of the calendar owner).

OHSU Events for OHSU

Trumba can be set up for OHSU departments or groups who coordinate and hold events for general OHSU audiences. These audiences include:

  • employees
  • faculty
  • health professionals
  • researchers
  • students

Events posted to calendars intended for OHSU audiences are automatically shared on the intranet calendar only. Events may also be shown on other department or organization calendars by request (and consent of the calendar owner), but they will not appear on any mission calendars or the OHSU Events calendar.

Request a Trumba Editor License

A department or group that wants to manage their events will need to pay a $40 per month fee to get an editor license for Trumba. Editors are responsible for maintaining the content of calendars, approving event submissions and monitoring the quality of the events that are listed. You can request an editor license for a new calendar using our online form.

Alternatives to Trumba

Trumba may not be the best solution if you aren’t coordinating regular events for an outside audience or the general OHSU audience on a regular basis.

Occasional OHSU Events

Employees can also submit events to some department caelndars as a request to display the event using an online form. Events must follow submission guidelines, which can be found with submission forms.

Community Events

Community events, or events sponsored by an organization not part of OHSU, are not generally included in our calendars. However, departments may help promote these events on their own calendars. If want to see a community event promoted on a department calendar, you can submit one using the online form. Events must follow submission guidelines, which can be found with the submission form.

Department Events

Microsoft Outlook is the best method for organizing department events. However, you can also get a Bridge site if you need to create events that don’t require specific attendees. Bridge sites have the ability to list events for groups and teams that have access to a particular Bridge site.
