Tier II Supported Hosting
In addition to the Tier I (CommonSpot) web hosting services, Web Strategies provides support for the Tier II web hosting environment. Commonly known as the 'web cluster', the purpose of this tier is to handle custom departmental sites, micro-sites and internal sites. Sites can be built on any platform supported by OHSU.
Some characteristics of the Tier II Web environment are:
File System Access
Developers with sites in this environment have full file system access to development and production.
Branding/Policy Compliance
All sites that use the OHSU header in this environment must meet branding, content, code and security guidelines.
Support
HTML
CSS
Apache 2.2.9
ColdFusion 8.0.1
Website Ownership
Departments who have anything on Tier II will need to follow website ownership policy
Review the Website Ownership Guidelines
Web Orientation & Testing
We require anyone requesting a Tier II account for a department website attend a web orientation before they get access. They will also have to complete an online exam for coding proficiency and their understanding of web development.
O-Zone (Intranet Website)
All O-Zone sites (intranet sites) are hosted in our Tier II environment. All of the same requirements and processes apply.
CommonSpot is not available to sites within O-Zone. Support for O-Zone websites is limited to hosting, file system permissions, and code review prior to go-live. Web Strategies is happy to recommend outside vendors for any design, development or site maintenance.
