Open Web Lab (OWL)

Open Web Labs are held in a computer lab and provide the opportunity to author content and to ask questions of Web Strategies in-person about CommonSpot or SharePoint.

The SharePoint OWL will be for the entire two hour block, and the CommonSpot OWL will be there for one hour. Feel free to stop by any time during the OWL.

Who Should Attend an Open Web Lab

Everyone!  Bring any web question at all.  Not sure how to get started? Question about authoring in CommonSpot? Looking for advice about how to lay out a page?  Question about how to use Bridge? We're ready.

No need to sign up, just stop on by!  You can catch the shuttle, use the tram/streetcar or Trimet #8.  We have parking available in the building but it will be at your own cost to park here.  Please sign in at the 9th floor reception desk then come on back to Training Room 932. See you there!

Content Strategy Trainings

Our content strategy trainings are presentations about different aspects of content and how to effectively send your messages online. You can go through a training as part of a site design project with Web Strategies or simply email a request.

Sending the Right Message

This presentation is about making sure your website supports your efforts as a business or organization. It helps you see the connection between what you want, what visitors want and how content connects you to your visitors.

Content Optimization

This presentation covers a list of steps to take, so visitors can easily digest your content. It also includes basics for making sure search engines know what your pages are about.

Advanced CommonSpot Training

We provide an Advanced Elements training for users who have been in CommonSpot for at least 6 months and show proficiency in the basics of authoring based on the pages they manage. Advanced Elements takes users through some specific elements that authors have access to and leads them through the unique features of these elements. From this tour of elements, authors should be able to use any of the elements available to them and know where to look in element menus to make changes to more complex elements.
