Current Known Issues

Below is a list of known CommonSpot issues and their workarounds. If you are still experiencing errors after following the instructions for your issue, please email a request to the Help Desk.
- Activated page that should show in left navigation isn't showing
- New uploaded image changes all images on page or banner image to new image
- No CSS style available in RTE
- RTE link error "There is no text selected"
- Work in progress showing when no changes are pending

Issue DescriptionActivated page that should show in left navigation isn't showing correctly.
Workaround
- Email a request to the Help Desk
- Include URL to have subsite cache cleared
New uploaded image changes all images on page or banner image to new image
Issue Description
New uploaded image changes all images on page or banner image to new image.
Workarounds (Try one at a time and check to see if issue is corrected before moving to the next workaround)
- Clear CommonSpot cache (Actions/Clear & Update Cache in top blue menu), log out and back in
- Submit change, check to see if images are correct on www version
- Copy element for safekeeping, delete problem element, remake
- Rollback to last good version (available by clicking the the orange arrow on the left of your page when logged in, then selecting the Page Versions option at the bottom) and try again
- If none of the above workarounds correct issue, email the issue to the Help Desk.
No CSS style available
Issue Description
When trying to add a CSS style to selected text by selecting the CSS style dropdown menu in the RTE (rich text editor), there are no styles available and the only option is "No CSS style."
Workaround
- Clear CommonSpot cache (Actions/Clear & Update Cache in top blue menu)
- If you still cannot see any CSS style options in the dropdown, you are using an incompatible version of your internet browser
- View the list of compatible browsers on Web Strategies' CS Browser Information page.
- Install compatible version of browser
RTE link error
Issue Description
When attempting to add a link in the RTE (rich text editor), CommonSpot says "Your selection does not contain any text. Please be sure to select some text content."
Workaround
- Close RTE
- Go to Actions menu
- Select Clear and Update Cache
- Wait for CommonSpot to clear cache
- Try again
Work in progress showing when no changes are pending
Issue Description
My CommonSpot shows work in progress when I don't see any pending changes (yellow coloring).
Issue Description
- Go to page
- Go into Work on this page
- Look for the orange Submit button to the right of the blue page menu bar
- Click on it and "publish" the changes
- Uncheck all the actions boxes (not necessary but you don't need to really do a major update)
- The work in progress should clear from your My CommonSpot desktop
